The maintenance of the robot balance cylinder is crucial for ensuring long-term stable operation and extending the service life of the robot. The following are daily maintenance precautions:


1. Regular inspection


Leakage inspection: Check for hydraulic oil or gas leaks in the balance cylinder piston rod, seals, and connections (depending on the type of balance cylinder). When oil stains or a decrease in air pressure are found, immediately replace the seals or damaged parts.


Appearance inspection: Observe whether the piston rod has scratches, rust, or deformation. Surface damage may cause seal failure. Check if there are any bumps or cracks in the cylinder body.


Inspection of connecting components: Ensure that the installation bolts and pin shafts are not loose or worn, and prevent vibration or displacement during operation.


2. Lubrication and maintenance


Piston rod lubrication


Use the manufacturer's recommended lubricating grease or hydraulic oil, regularly clean and lubricate the piston rod (such as the hydraulic balance cylinder, pay attention to the cleanliness of the oil). Avoid using inferior lubricants to prevent corrosion of seals.


Joint bearing lubrication: Apply lubricating grease to the bearings at the hinge joints of the balance cylinder to reduce friction and wear.


3. Maintenance of sealing system


Regularly replace seals


It is recommended to replace vulnerable parts such as seals and O-rings every 1-2 years or according to the manufacturer's cycle (even if there is no leakage). When replacing, original accessories should be used to ensure that the size and material match.


Clean the sealed area


During disassembly and maintenance, thoroughly remove old grease and impurities to prevent particle damage to the sealing surface.


4. Maintenance of hydraulic/pneumatic systems


Hydraulic oil management: Regularly check the cleanliness of the oil, filter or replace contaminated oil (recommended to adjust every 2000 hours or according to working conditions). Keep the oil level within the normal range and avoid air entering the system.


Air pressure system maintenance: Check the dryness of the air source to prevent moisture from corroding the cylinder body; Regularly drain accumulated water from the filter.


5. Functional testing


Run test: Start the robot in safe mode and observe whether the balancing cylinder moves smoothly, without any abnormal noise or jamming. Test load balancing performance to ensure no sinking or rebound anomalies.


Pressure detection: Check whether the system pressure of the hydraulic balance cylinder is stable, and confirm that the pressure reducing valve setting of the pneumatic balance cylinder is correct.


6. Environmental management


Dust and dirt prevention: In dusty environments, install protective covers or retractable dust covers to protect the piston rod.


Temperature control: Avoid extreme high or low temperature environments to prevent aging of sealing materials or changes in oil viscosity.


7. Record keeping and professional maintenance


Establish and maintain records: record the date of each inspection, replacement of parts, and any abnormal situations for easy tracking of issues.


Regular professional maintenance: Every 3-5 years, the manufacturer or professional technicians conduct a comprehensive disassembly and inspection to replace internal wear parts.

Before maintenance, be sure to cut off the power/pressure source and lock the robot in a safe state.

Non professionals should not disassemble the internal structure of the cylinder body to avoid failure caused by improper assembly.

When there is abnormal vibration or performance degradation, immediately stop the machine for troubleshooting.
